Supercharging the On-Ramp
The developer-facing front door to PowerReady, Con Edison's half-billion-dollar EV make-ready program, rebuilt from static PDFs and inbox intake into guided flows that tell developers where they stand and what comes next.
- What we built
- A developer-facing intake and eligibility platform for PowerReady: incentive calculators, a Disadvantaged Community screener, tailored project flows across charger types, GIS-backed eligibility, and admin tooling for Con Edison's teams.
- Timeline
- Two phases from 2023: Light Duty first, then Medium- and Heavy-Duty and mixed sites. Live and expanding as the MHD program evolves.
- Who did the work
- A small senior team, the same people from scoping through launch. The people who built it are the people on your calls.

Overview: The short of it
PowerReady is one of the largest EV make-ready programs in the country, with more than half a billion dollars to speed charger installations across Con Edison's territory. By 2023 the money was there but the path wasn't. Developers hit a gauntlet of eligibility rules, static PDFs, and an email inbox, with little sense of what came next.
We replaced static PDFs and inbox intake with a guided web experience that meets developers where they are. An incentive calculator surfaces top-line figures for L2, DCFC, and micromobility. A Disadvantaged Community screener tells developers early whether they qualify for bonus funding. Tailored flows route each project by charger type and fleet, then hand complex Medium- and Heavy-Duty cases to Con Edison's Fleets Advisory team. Behind it, a custom admin portal replaced the noisy inbox with a structured workflow.
The point was never to automate the experts out. Con Edison's teams stay central to the hard projects. The tools free them from answering the same basic questions so they can spend their time on the real barriers. The part we're proudest of: developers now show up to those conversations prepared, with a clear read on eligibility and their next step.

Would this work at our size?
PowerReady is a half-billion-dollar program with four project types and a room full of internal stakeholders. The same guided-intake approach scales down to a single-incentive program run by a much smaller team.

One program
The same guided-intake approach, scoped to one incentive and the small team that runs it: eligibility, application, and status without the inbox.
Running an incentive program developers can't navigate? That's fixable.
Thirty minutes, no deck unless you want one. Bring the intake process that's been generating the same five questions for a year. That's usually where the good work starts.
